MTU and GBTU combines to form UPTU

Here’s a Good news for all of you. As you all know, in the year 2010, our state university of Uttar Pradesh was partitioned in two parts, one was MTU and the other was GBTU. But recently a proposal passed by Technical Education Council to combine both universities and work as a single university have been approved under the CM Ship of Akhilesh Yadav.
This news was confirmed by many sources like 31-october-2012 edition of Amar Ujala and by a Weekly magzine The Magz
In 2010 the UPTU was divided in MTU and GBTU to operate in two different regions.  Areas like Aligarh, Agra, Meerut, Bareili, Muradabad, and NCR were maintained by MTU and other remaining areas were handled by GBTU. This arrangement was done by Shree Mayawati government. But seing Chaos and problems faced by students of both the universities, Govt decided to approve the proposal passed by Technical education council.
Hence it is now decided and will come into force very soon that UPTU will be the only state university of Uttar Pradesh.
