MTU has decided to telecast its convocation online, giving students an
opportunity to participate in huge numbers to first convocation, which
is to be held in January next year at MTU’s Noida campus at Sector 62. Around ten thousand students of MBA, two thousand students of MCA and M Pharm will be honored with degrees.
SK Kaag, vice-chancellor, MTU, said, “For watching the online process of convocation, students have to approach the university for getting secret ID and password to be given by the university. Such students need to enter this password to watch the first convocation of MTU online. Convocation will be held in January, 2013.”
More than 250 MBA colleges are affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University across the state. Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) gives its students an opportunity to watch the live telecast of university’s convocation every year. Also, Gautam Buddha University (GBU) for the first time had telecast its convocation online last year.
As per the notification issued by the University, the convocation address shall be delivered by Padma Vibhushan Dr. E Sreedharan, Principal Advisor / DMRC, an eminent engineer, distinguished manager and a visionary leader. All those students of the aforesaid courses are expected to attend the ceremony. Students who want to participate in the ceremony are required to register their candidature by logging onto the University’s official website: http://www.mtu.ac.in/. The last date to register is January 25, 2013.
MBA / M Tech / M Pharm degree holders who have secured 75% and above marks and all Gold and Silver medal awardees shall be presented their degrees / medals on the dias, while the rest of the eligible post graduate students shall be conferred the degrees at their places in the Pandal and get their degrees by separate arrangement on the same day. The remaining students shall be conferred their degrees in absentia.
