Thus, there are some measures that Indian students must take when studying abroad, to prevent getting attacked:
  • In night when you observe a group of people walking towards you, you should change your direction or walk over in opposite side.
  • It really does helps when you travel in the first class compartments after 6pm.
  • Keep the police number and your dear one’s number on your speed dials.
  • Avoid doing night working shifts.
  • For girls, keep pepper spray in your bag while travelling.
  • When you see any incident happening or become a victim lodge a police complaint.
  • If you are in danger, shout and seek for help.
  • Do not hear the loud music during night when you are not in your house, because you need to be alert while walking during night.
  • If you are chilling in a pub, leave before 11pm.
  • Try to mix and mingle with other peoples except your nationality; because being friends overcomes all barriers which also include racisms too.
  • Avoid cheap means of accommodation, although they are easy on your pocket; they would be dangerous. Try to go for accommodations which are of average rates.
  • Do not speak loudly or crudely about your native language. As this can invite the chaos of certain people who feel offended by the boisterous show of your behaviour.
  • Do not roam around in areas which reek of drunkards, drug addicts and many other harmful things.

If suddenly some danger happens with you, try to pull the door handles of all the cares which are at your nearby places. Now all cars in most of the countries like Australia have security alarms situated in the cars. Thus the pulling of the car handles activates the alarm and alerts the neighbourhood of the nearby places and the attack is prevented.
