INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION (IISE)

The Mission and Mandate of IISE

The Disabled Children Education Trust (DCET), the fountain-head of IISE, was established in the year 1991 in order to impart free-of-cost professional education to the disabled children of India. The DCET umbrella holds under its ambit the International Institute for Special   Education (IISE) Society.

The IISE Society was registered in the same year, i.e., 1991 with the mission: “to settle in life through Management and IT education, primarily the poor disabled people (free education) and the normal people of India and the world”. The Society established an educational institute with the same name, International Institute for Special Education (IISE) in 1991. The governing body took the solemn vow to use the institution for accomplishing the mission and not to make money out of it. The vow continues to be honoured and the entire surplus generated is ploughed back into the institution. Moreover, the founder, Dr Girish Bihari had a strong and unassailable view that IISE will cater to that section of society who wants to send their children for management/IT education but cannot afford to pay the high fees charged by the educational institutions run by big business houses. Thus, the fees remained and continue to remain at one lakh minus.
Corporate Social Responsibility -  the Existential Essence of IISE
IISE has left no stone unturned in its untiring efforts to translate its avowed mission into concrete reality. The institution has always professed and practised the dictum of corporate social responsibility and believes in discharging this responsibility in right earnest. In fact, social upliftment of the ‘differently abled’ members of society is an integral part of the organizational philosophy that shapes IISE’s policies and programmes.

Where there is a will, there is a way…
  Dr Yogendra Pratap Singh
With a battery of qualifications under his belt and a number of achievements to his credit, Dr YP Singh has never allowed his paraplegic status to come in the way of his career growth. A financial wizard and investment consultant of high repute, Dr Singh is a man of impeccable professional credentials. His association with IISE dates back to the year 1996, when he joined this place to do his PGDM after graduating in science from the prestigious University of Allahabad. He subsequently joined the institute as a Lecturer in Finance and went on to become Professor after completing his doctoral research in a record time of 18 months. He has also authored a book and several research papers.
Mr Ankur Chaudhary
A bright and vivacious young lad, Ankur was a normal, happy-go-lucky school-going kid, when the catastrophe happened. A fateful road accident rendered him paraplegic. He joined IISE as a student in the management stream and throughout his stay was always known for his zest for life and contagious sense of humour. Hats off to the never-say-die spirit of this dynamic young man who has always led a self-dependent life and is doing so right now also. After completing his PGDM from IISE, Ankur is now working as Corporate Officer with the Indian Spiral Injuries Centre at New Delhi.

IISE has been part and parcel of the lives of these two achievers. It salutes their spirit and reaffirms its commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility.
