The Department of Technical and Training Education, in Delhi provides technological manpower required for the diverse industries. It also imparts superior quality technical education and develops the skills of the aspirants through a variety of courses of different levels. The full time courses in different diploma engineering or technology studies and occupational & secretarial management based streams are offered under the affiliation of this department in various government and private Polytechnics. Delhi Polytechnics CET examination is the test organized by this department for the admission of qualified students in these courses.

Structure and Pattern of Delhi Polytechnics CET Entrance Exam

The examination includes five tests and each is for the candidates satisfying different qualifications in 12th examinations. It will be different for different disciplines. The syllabus for the examination will also be different for five tests. Except for the pharmacy courses, the question paper comprises of about 150 objective type questions. Four options will be given for each question. Candidates have to mark the correct answer in the OMR sheet provided to them. For the pharmacy courses, the test will include 210 questions, of which students have to attend 150 questions by opting other 60 questions from either Mathematics or Biology. They should indicate their choice in the answer sheet. Four marks are awarded for each right answer. The duration of examination is two and half hours. The total marks of the tests will be 600 and the medium of instruction of the question paper will be only English.

Qualification Criteria for Delhi Polytechnics CET Entrance Exam

The qualification criteria will be different for the different tests. However the students should pass the 10+2 system of education for appearing in this examination. The eligibility criteria for each test is as follows

Test 1: The candidates should have passed the 10th examination of 10+2 system of Matric or any other equivalent examinations organized by CBSE. Science, Mathematics and English should be the compulsory subjects in the academics.

Test 2: Pursued pass in the senior secondary examinations under CBSE or equivalent examinations. English should be one of the compulsory subjects.

Test 3: Pursued pass in the class 12th examinations of CBSE under the 10+2 scheme or equivalent examinations. The subjects Hindi or Sanskrit should be a compulsory subject at these academics.

Test 4: Pursued the higher secondary education and passed the examinations of CBSE or equivalent examination recognized by Pharmacy council of India. Physics, Chemistry, English and either Mathematics or Biology must the compulsory subjects studied.

Test 5: This is for two categories – for 10+2 vocational courses and for ITI pass outs. This test is for the lateral entry admissions of the eligible candidates.

Application Procedure of Delhi Polytechnics CET Entrance Exam

The information bulletin along with application form for the examination can be procured from the designated Corporation Bank branches within Delhi by paying an amount of Rs.350/-. Students can also get this form through post by sending a request along with the application fee as DD and a self addressed envelope to the specified official address. Candidates should carefully fill all the required fields with their own hand writing in English only. The completely filled up application form should be then send to the address as specified below. An incomplete application form in any means will be rejected.
