Seven students of Expert PU Science College have been successful in cracking this year's IIT - JEE. They are Vineet Kishore, Adarsh Shetty, Narayan Chavan, Gururaj, Shishir D Patil, Avinash Bhat and Rohan Mahalank.

For the first time in the history of Surat city, in the field dominated by boys , a girl named Hetal Rathod , belonging to Schedule caste community has passed the IIT Entrance examination and has obtained 311 rank in SC category . She wants to pursue aero space engineering .

On the whole, 479657 students had appeared in JEE in the country, out of which 24,112 have been declared selected. A total of 17,462 students of the selected lot have been asked to appear for the counselling. The success percentage this year is 37%.

This year 121 girls and 1016 boys have cracked JEE in General category in Kanpur zone. In OBC category, 32 girls and 536 boys have cleared JEE. In SC category, 62 girls and 46 boys have passed the prestigious exam.

A total of 78,992 students had appeared in IIT-JEE from Kanpur zone out of which 2,938 have been declared to be selected. A total of 2,101 students have been asked to appear in the counselling.

Among girls, Shubhangi Verma has topped Kanpur zone followed by Chahat Bajpai and Ishu Goel. Shubhangi belongs to Kanpur.
